INLD leader Ajay Chautala on Thursday slammed the Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Haryana government for keeping mum on the poisoning incident of Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ramkishan Fauji. While addressing mediapersons,Chautala mentioned that Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) shall be submitting a memorandum to the Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia on May 12,demanding a judicial probe in Ramkishan Fauji’s poisoning incident. The memo will also highlight the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

“The chief minister and the entire government and the police force is totally silent over the issue. I had visited Fauji and spoke to doctors. The intake of poison is confirmed. Either Fauji consumed poison on his own,or somebody poisoned him. It is a matter of investigation, but the state government, which should have unearthed the mystery by now,has failed to do so,” Chautala said.

Referring to a murder case of Rajbir,a Bhiwani resident,Chautala said,“There is a woman who had been claiming a relationship with Ramkishan Fauji and people in Bhiwani are alleging that the murder of Rajbir is also linked with the poisoning incident.

All these links should be verified. We will request the Haryana Governor to order a high-level probe into the incident.”

Reacting to Chautala’s remarks,Haryana Congress president Phool Chand Mullana issued a statement in the evening contradicting Chautala’s claims. The statement read,“While Fauji is battling for life, the INLD is trying to give it a political colour. It is during the tenure of Hooda-led Congress government that the power situation has improved in the state.”

Fauji unfit to make statement

HARYANA: The Haryana police is yet to record Ramkishan Fauji’s statement. While talking to The Indian Express,Sub Inspector Somnath, who is acting as the Station House Officer for Sector 14 police station and investigating Fauji’s poisoning incident, said: “Our team had gone to the hospital to check on Fauji, but he is yet not declared fit for making any statement. We shall check again on May11.”
