SAD President and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal today slammed PM Manmohan Singh for citing coalition dharma as the reason for his not acting tough on issues of corruption.

Talking to reporters after laying foundation stones of several projects,Sukhbir said it was “unfortunate” that the PM gave such a statement. He said it was the responsibility of the head of the state to ensure good governance and the PM could not escape constitutional responsibility citing coalition compulsions.

Calling Punjab Congress issueless and directionless, the Deputy CM said PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh’s speeches only focused on targeting police officials and Akali workers. “Other than that,Congress cannot mention a single development work carried out during their regime,” Sukhbir said.

Reacting to his estranged cousin Manpreet Badal’s remarks that there would be rule of law and not of an individual after 11 months in Punjab,Sukhbir said,“He (Manpreet) should also tell what kind of rule it was in Gidderbaha in the last four years.” On pollution from thermal plants,Sukhbir said,“The upcoming thermal plants are Super Critical Thermal Plants and are pollution free.”
