Pinjore robbery bid: Accused sent to police remand

Police have taken five day remand of Mukesh Kumar,arrested on Monday for making a robbery bid at a house in Surajpur area,Pinjore

Police have taken five day remand of Mukesh Kumar,arrested on Monday for making a robbery bid at a house in Surajpur area,Pinjore.

According to police,a local court in Kalka sent the accused to police remand till September 2 after they pleaded they had to make recoveries from him as one of his associates had fled

from where the robbery took place.

The incident took place around 3 pm at the house of one Surajpal,while the robbers fled with a wallet and a silver anklet.

After the house-owner and his wife raised an alarm,the robbers tried to escape but were chased by Surajpal and some residents,who managed to over-power Kumar while his associate got away.

The accused was then arrested and Rs 550 were recovered from him.

Originally a resident of Bihar,Mukesh Kumar,police said,lived with the other accused in Noida.

Police believe Kumar used to visit a girl in Pinjore and was planning a bigger robbery before he was nabbed on Monday.

The accused Mukesh Kumar,and his other associate had fired gun shots in the air at Surajpur in Pinjore after committing the robbery,leading police to say that Kumar belonged to an organised criminal gang as he and his other associates were armed with weapons before they struck a house.
