The Advanced Cardiac Centre (ACC) at the PGIMER is all set to the raise the bar for providing quality healthcare facilities,especially in the field of paediatrics cardiology,as the centre is collaborating with the renowned centres,Columbia Presbyterian and Weil Cornell Medical Centre,New York.
For the purpose,a paediatric cardiac team from Columbia Presbyterian and Weil Cornell Medical Centre,New York,is currently on a visit to the ACC to help build up the paediatric cardiac programme at the institute. The team consisting of paediatric cardiac surgeon,paediatric cardiologist,paediatric echo cardiographer,paediatric cardiac anaesthesiologist,paediatric cardiac intensivist,paediatric cardiac perfusionist and paediatric cardiac ICU nurses is here for one week. The visit of the team is being supported by Childrens Heart Link,Minnesota. The objective of the collaboration is to develop and maintain quality sustainable paediatric cardiovascular services at PGIMER,providing cardiovascular services to needy children and sharing knowledge and technical skills to improve overall paediatric cardiac services.
The long-term collaboration with the Childrens Heart Links medical team will help in providing on or offsite training to PGI staff. It will also assist in planning the future growth and development of paediatric cardiac programme of PGIMER, said Dr G D Puri,in charge of ACC.
During the visit,the medical as well as paramedical personnel of the team interacted with the staff looking after the paediatric cardiac programme at PGIMER.
