The newly appointed professor incharge of PGI’s engineering department has sought “suggestions and solutions” from the PGI faculty for “improvements in the better working” of the engineering department.
The PGI faculty association had launched an agitation programme earlier this month in view of the “lackadaisical” attitude of the engineering department and the PGI administration towards issues pertaining to the faculty. Following protests for more than a week, the professor incharge of the engineering wing, Professor K L N Rao, stepped down from the post, the charge of which was handed over to Dr D Bahera, Professor and Head of Department of Pulmonary Medicine.
“Please give us suggestions and solutions for improvements in the better working by the Section. I am trying to understand some of the problems and issues that involve the Engineering Section,” reads an email sent by Dr Bahera to the PGI faculty.
Officials said the email was circulated on Wednesday evening.
“Several issues were raised by the faculty association regarding the engineering wing. The aim is to get their feedback so that we can improve our services,” said an official.
Sources said the engineering wing had already started receiving feedback. “We will work on the suggestions,” said the official.
Dr T D Yadav, president of the PGI faculty association, said, “We will definitely send our feedback to the engineering wing. We are happy that something came forth after we raised the issues.”
