The Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Shivraj V Patil along with senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration on Tuesday visited the 10-storey building,InstaCon,that was constructed in 48 hours in the Industrial Area,Phase 1,Mohali.
The Punjab Governor said that the building is built with ideas more than building material. He said it shows how new technology,if implemented sincerely,can solve the problem of providing shelter and space for all other kinds of activities.
Apprising the Punjab Governor about the salient features of the building,Harpal Singh disclosed that this is the first building of its kind in the country and is unique in many ways. He said that all the components were manufactured in the factory,pre-fitted with floors,water supply,wiring,sanitation,air conditioning ducts,etc.
He claimed that one can get revenue from investment within days. Though the cost is almost the same as incurred using conventional techniques,there is lot of gain in saving man-days of work in terms of manpower days and overcoming inflationary increases.
Undertrial continues to elude police
A day after a rape under-trial managed to escape,the UT Police is unable to find tha accused. Deepak,20,a resident of Sector 15,made a dramatic escape from a bus stop on Madhya Marg,Sector 10 on Monday afternoon.
According to a police official,while Deepak was undergoing a medical check-up in Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH),Sector 16,his relatives had come to meet him. We have questioned the relatives today, said an official.
Deepak escaped when he was being taken back from GMSH-16 to the Jail. The accused had made an escape rendering two policemen injured.
