With merely a day to go for the polls, the two major parties,Congress and BJP,are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters in the Ambala constituency. While Congress is banking on the service class, employees’ unions and youngsters,BJP is focusing more on its strength of traders and shopkeepers.
The Kalka-Pinjore demolitions, which are definitely going to play a vital role, failed to find a mention in Congress candidate Kumari Selja’s first public address at Kalka on Monday.
While Congress is promising to bring a spate of developmental works in Ambala,BJP is focusing more on financial front. Workers of both the parties were busy throughout the day, wooing their set of voters by campaigning door-to-door in various assembly constituencies.
Congress is reminding people of the developmental works executed in Ambala constituency in the last five years such as construction of a women college in Panchkula,four-laning of NH-22,getting crores of rupees as grants, solving drinking water problem in Ambala etc.
BJP has nothing more than the Congress to boast of. The works done by them include grant for HMT workers, construction of flyovers from Ambala to Chandigarh and a railway station in Panchkula. However, the Congress has also claimed the credit for Ambala-Chandigarh-Kalka four-laning and grants for HMT workers. Interestingly, the Panchkula railway station, which is claimed by the BJP in its achievement-pamphlet is only on paper.
Hisar: As the election campaigning ended today, the political parties made the final effort to woo the voters with a long list of promises. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda made his fifth visit for Jai Prakash, who is three time sitting MP from here.
