By Abhishek Goyat In a dramatic turn in Panjab University’s (PU’s) student politics, former Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) president Anurag Dalal has officially rejoined the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). His return, following last year’s turbulence and an internal split within the party, is being widely hailed as a potential game changer ahead of the student body elections. The announcement was made at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35, in the presence of Chandigarh Congress president H S Lucky and NSUI national president Varun Chaudhary on Tuesday. Party sources suggest that Dalal’s move also has the backing of Congress MP Deepender Hooda. Dalal’s re-entry is expected to significantly impact the student political landscape at PU, with observers predicting a renewed momentum for the NSUI’s campaign and a boost in student support. “All eyes are now on Dalal and the NSUI as the countdown to elections begins,” a party insider said, noting that this decision could reshape campus political dynamics and offer new direction for student leadership. The joining ceremony was attended by senior leaders, including the NSUI Chandigarh in-charge, local councillors, and NSUI national secretaries, underscoring the importance of the development.
