Two days after the house-to-house searches to collect the details of domestic servants and tenants were put on hold by the police, the residents have sought that the drive should be continued.

Police Commissioner Panchkula-Ambala range Rajbir Deswal had ordered the door-to-door survey by the police to keep the crime under check, which was put on hold after reports of inconvenience faced by the people came up. However,as the residents sought that the police re-start the drive,Deswal said that the drive has only been put on hold and not stopped.

“The survey was a good gesture by the police and should be re-started,” said Panchkula Municipal Corporation (PMC) corporator,C B Goel. “The survey had instilled a sense of confidence among people. It is the requirement in the wake of rising crime incidents in the city.
