Over 10,000 register for engg,architecture institutions

June 26 is last date for submission of forms

The process of submission of forms for admission to all the six engineering and architecture institutions in the city and Hoshiarpur will close on Tuesday. A total of 10,000 students have registered for the joint admission to the six institutions against 1,600 seats.

The admission to PEC University of Technology,Sector 14,University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) in Panjab University (PU),Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET),Sector 26,University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET) in PU,Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre,Hoshiarpur,(SSGPURC) and Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA),Sector 12,is being jointly conducted by UIET.

Students can submit the forms on the website The mock counselling will be conducted online for helping the students in deciding their preferences of institutions in accordance with their ranks in All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE).

The mock counselling and filling of preferences will start from July 1 and students will be allowed to change preferences,if needed,till July 5. On July 6 and 7,the preferences will be locked (or finalised) and the merit list will be declared online on July 9.

The students will then have to pay the admission fee online between July 9 and 11. Even those who do not get any suitable seat or are not satisfied with the seat allotted in the first round of counselling will have to pay the fee for participating in second and third rounds of counselling.

While for CCA and UICET,Rs 10,000 has been specified as the provisional fee to be paid during counselling,for all the other four departments,the amount has been specified as Rs 45,000.
