The executive officer of the Kharar Municipal Council will now convene a meeting to elect a new president, which is expected to take place any day next week.

A few days ago, 18 councillors had submitted a formal letter to the executive officer, demanding a special meeting to consider a no-confidence motion against president Jaspreet Kaur Laungia.

Responding to this demand, Laungia herself convened the council meeting Friday.
