On the sixteenth day of the recalled protest by the students of the National Institute Of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER),Mohali, the protestors on Tuesday blocked the entrance of the administrative section of the institute.
According to the members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP),who are supporting the students of NIPER,a delegation of the NIPER,Mohali students led by the ABVP met Srikant Kumar Jena,Minister of State,Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers,so that immediate action could be taken on the demands of the students.
Srikant Kumar Jena asked us to put a halt on the protest for 8 to 10 days and he said that in the meantime he will take necessary action to work on the demands of the students. We will have a meeting with the protesting students and will then take the final decision of whether to call it an off for a few days or not, said a student who went to Delhi to meet the minister.
We are going to hold a blood donation camp tomorrow in the campus as necessary arrangements were not available today due to which we had to postpone the camp. The research work and learning of the students is also suffering as no resolution seems to be in sight, said a protester.
The students have now reached the sixteenth day after recalling their protest and are protesting against the authorities to persuade them to meet their demands.
