Navodaya Vidyalaya,Sector 25,Chandigarh,is finally on the verge of becoming the first school among all the Navodaya Vidyalayas in the country to get a smart classroom. The one of the leading electronics company of world Samsung has finally sent equipment to the school. The equipment is to be installed on Friday by the company.
The company has provided an interactive whiteboard (smart board),21 laptops (20 for the students and one for the teacher),10 tablets,eight hours power-back up inverter,printer and a Wi-Fi router in the classroom where 20 students could be seated.
Navodaya Vidyalaya,Sector 25, Chandigarh,was supposed to ensure that the classrooms were arranged as per the drawing provided by Samsung,including the colour combinations in the classroom,cupboards,charging points for each laptop in the classroom,windows with extra iron grills etc.
The school got all this work completed on Thursday so that Samsung could send the equipment and the smart classroom could start as soon as possible.
According to the principal,Santosh Sharma,the students will get a good opportunity to get academic instruction through the smart board as well as application of laptops.
The co-ordinators could also utilise the evening self-study period for the students in the smart classroom by rotation so that maximum utilisation could be made. The company will provide two days training to around 54 teachers,for using the smart boards and application of e-content,once the installation is done, added Sharma.
