Jaspreet Kaur and Milanpreet Singh were right on target as they claimed two titles each in the 48th Punjab State shooting championship,held at Mohali Shooting Range on Saturday. Jaspreet won titles in the Sports Rifle Prone individual junior women individual and team (NR) and Sports Rifle 3 position women individual and team (NR) events. In the first event,the shooter from Muktsar scored 556 out of 600 to hit the bull’s eye. Simranjeet Kaur,also from Muktsar,won silver with a score of 525 out of 600 while State-mate Gurmeet won the third spot after finishing with 518 out of 600.
In the second event,Jaspreet returned with a score of 509 out of 600 to win the first position while the second and third spots were taken by Babbandeep and Sofia with scores of 497 and 484,respectively,out of 600.
Meanwhile,Milanpreet Singh won gold in .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle men individual and team (NS) and .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle Youth Men (ISSF) events. In the first event,the Ludhiana shooter fired and scored 577 out of 600 to win the first spot while Ekambir S Mandi of Fatehgarh Sahib and Gurnadvir S Kaleka also from Fatehgarh Sahib,claimed the second and third positions with scores of 576 and 571 respectively. Milanpreet won his second title of the day when he returned with a score of 577 out of 600. Ekambir and Hirday Pal Singh of Amritsar finished second and third with scores of 576 and 561 respectively.
Pawandeep Kaur of Mukstar struck gold in Sports Rifle Prone individual women individual and team (NR) after returning with a score of 527 out of 600 while another Muktsar shooter Gurpreet Kaur won the first position with a score of 266 out of 400 in the Sports Pistol women (NR). Ramandeep Kaur of Muktsar clinched the Sports Pistol Junior Women (NR) title with a score of 256 out of 400.
Verinderpal Singh of Jalandhar won gold in the Free Rifle Prone Men Individual (ISSF) event with a score of 544 out of 600,while Chahatdeep Kaur of Muktsar struck gold in Sports Rifle Prone Men Individual (ISSF) after returning with a score of 559 out of 600. Rajwinder Singh of Gurdaspur (581/600) won the .177 Peep Sight Air Rifle Men Individual and Team (ISSF) title while Reetpal Singh (LC 95) of Patiala was bang on target in Air Pistol Junior Men (ISSF) event with a score of 562 out of 600. Achal Pratap S Grewal of Fatehgarh Sahin claimed the first spot in Air Pistol Youth Men (ISSF) event with 553 out of 600 while Aditi Sewak also won in Air Pistol Junior Women Individual (ISSF) with a score of 369 out of 400.
