Mamta,a resident of Haryana,has been accused of murdering her one-year-old daughter,Sonakshi. The incident took place in Paida Village. According to the police,Mamta,the accused,had an affair with a man called Vikas before she got married and even after two years of her marriage,she was in an extra marital affair with Vikas.
Police said that after Mamta gave birth to a baby girl,Vikas started threatening Mamta that he will speak to her in-laws and say that he is the father of the child. According to the police,Mamta then got scared of the threat and strangulated the child,so that her in-laws do not come to know about her affair with Vikas.
Police said Mamta tried to blame her neighbour,Anita,of strangulating Sonakshi. However,during interrogation,she confessed to the crime. She has been arrested and a case has been registered against her under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
