As the statements of all the prosecution witnesses were recorded in the alleged murder case of Monica Goyal, the court will now record the statements of the accused on November 1. The viscera report, however,is still awaited even a year after the crime.

The police had filed the CFSL report in the court last week on October 24. The report stated that the blood stains found on the clothes, mattress and bed sheet of the deceased was of group “A” and belonged to deceased Monica Goyal. The autopsy report has all ready established that the reason of the death was asphyxia or strangulation.

“We have written to the director of the CFSL for the report. The report can suggest the presence of any chemical in the body which can help us to prove our case in the court.” said the Chandigarh District Attorney.

“The viscera report is an important document as it is per se admissible in the court without any witness. In the case of the blood examination, the expert has to depose before the court about the report,” he added.

Monica was allegedly found hanging in her Sector 21 residence on October 15 last year. While her husband and family claimed that she committed suicide,Monica’s parents have alleged that she was murdered. ENS
