Mohali MC to elect vice-chiefs,chief on Thursday

Mohali Municipal Council would elect its new president,senior vice-president and vice-president on Thursday.

Mohali Municipal Council (MC) would elect its new president,senior vice-president and vice-president on Thursday. The much-awaited special meeting of MC House has been called at Municipal Bhawan in Sector 68 here to conduct the election for three civic posts at 10 am.

MC Executive Officer Amana Kumar Goel this evening shot off a notice to all 30 elected municipal councillors and local MLA Balbir Sidhu,who is an ex-officio member having voting right in the MC,calling them to attend the meeting.

The meeting was called on the directions of Mohali SDM R P S Walia,who has been appointed convener by Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh Mand,to conduct the election for the three posts lying vacant.

Confirming the development,SDM said the election for three posts would be conducted simultaneously at the same meeting.
