‘Miri Piri College run by SGPC trust’

SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar seeks apology from Haryana ministers Randeep Singh Surjewala and Harmohinder Singh Chatha for their comments.

Accusing the Congress government in Haryana of false propaganda against Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Sikhs,SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar on Friday sought an apology from Haryana ministers Randeep Singh Surjewala and Harmohinder Singh Chatha for their comments in Assembly on Miri Piri Institute of Medical Sciences at Shahbad Markanda in Haryana’s Kurukshetra district. Addressing mediapersons,Makkar said the college was being run by a trust under the SGPC and not controlled by any individual. Surjewala had reportedly said on the floor of the House that the college did not belong to SGPC and was run by a trust controlled by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.
