Two incidents of rape including that of a minor girl were reported in Panchkula district Wednesday. A minor girl was raped by one of her acquaintances at Ramgarh on Sunday and a case was registered on the complaint of her mother,police said,adding that the accused has been arrested.
According to police,the girl (14) was sent by her mother to the house of one Kamal,to help him with the family chores after his wife had fallen ill,on Sunday.
The girl was allegedly raped by Kamal at his house on Sunday. A case was registered at Chandimandir police station on Wednesday under section 376 of IPC and also under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against the accused.
Confirming the complaint,Commissioner police,Panchkula-Ambala range,Rajbir Deswal,said that the investigation in the case is currently on.
In her complaint,the mother of the minor girl has alleged that Kamal,who lives in a rented accommodation in Sector 25,had worked out a plan to rape her. She said he had asked her to send her daughter to help at his house since his wife was not well. Meanwhile,he left his wife at his sisters house,telling her that he would pick her up later. He then came to his Sector 25 house and raped the minor girl.Kamal,a father of two,runs a jewellery shop at Ramgarh.
When the girl returned home,she revealed her ordeal to her mother,following which the family approached the Chandimandir police station and got a case registered. The minors statement has been recorded before Magistrate Atul Marya on Wednesday. The medical examination report of the girl is awaited.
Kamal was arrested in the evening,after absconding from his house.
In another case,a 26-year old woman has alleged that she was raped by a man at Shahpur in Pinjore area,police said. According to police,they received the complaint that the woman,who knew the accused – identified as Vikram Singh – was called by him on her phone and after she was raped when she went to meet him. A hunt was on for Vikram Singh till reports last came in.
