The city residents are ruing the inefficiency of the online grievance mechanism of the Municipal Corporation. There are complaints after complaints bouncing back and residents are not able to check the status of the complaints.
The civic body had started the online system of grievance redressal last year. The members of the Youth Innovative Society claim that they tried registering complaints pertaining to construction waste and other issues. However,they were unable to do so.
Sachin Sharma,the chairman of the society,said that the complaints keep bouncing back. Those who have managed to lodge their complaints are not able to check the status. If complaints are sent to the officials of the MC they receive no response despite everyone having an official e-mail. Even the website of the MC is not up to date, says Sharma.
The aim of the online grievance redressal mechanism was that instead of people having to come to the MC office to lodge their complaints,they could do so from anywhere. An SMS would be generated on their mobile about the complaint number. The complaint would be transferred to the concerned official and looked into in a time bound manner.
