According to the sanitation bylaws,it is the responsibility of all the residents to ensure that their garbage is deposited in the bins and nowhere else. Even if the residents have employed someone to dispose off the garbage or construction waste,it is the responsibility of the residents to ensure that it is deposited at the proper place. Depositing garbage outside bins is an offence. Putting construction waste and horticulture waste in the bins is also not allowed.
The MC has issued a warning that the government institutions that did not deposit garbage at proper places should do so and it is the responsibility of the head of the institution to ensure the same. The civic body will strictly deal with such offenders by covering the entire city in phases by deploying officers to cover a particular section of the city and challan the offenders.
The sanitation committee of the MC has recommended hiring of 10 additional sanitary inspectors,so that those throwing garbage at unauthorised places at night can also be challaned.
