7 MBBS students at Himachal Pradesh government medical college suspended for ragging
The seven second-year MBBS students at Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College Nahan were suspended for three months and fined Rs 75,000 each.

(File Photo) Seven MBBS students of Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College Nahan in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district were suspended for three months and fined Rs 75,000 each after being found guilty of ragging their juniors.
The students will also be barred from participating in any regional, national, or international sports or cultural events, the college authorities said.
The alleged incident took place on November 26 and an anti-ragging committee meeting held on December 2 under the chairmanship of Dr Rajeev Tuli, the principal, decided to suspend the students. The suspension period came into effect from Wednesday.
“After an anonymous complaint, the institutional inquiry committee found seven students of 2nd year MBBS 2023 batch involved in the ragging of their juniors on November 26, 2024. These students behaved rudely with their juniors and took them to private accommodation and made them to stand for long period, used abusive language and made them to complete academic assignments,” a statement issued by Tuli’s office said, adding that the students did not “do any physical harm” to the juniors.
