Riding high on a brilliant century by Manan Vohra (123 off 201 balls),Punjab A were in drivers seat against Tamil Nadu A after the end the the third days play in Col. CK Nayadu Trophy match being played at Dindigul in Tamil Nadu.
After Punjab A resumed their innings at 66 for 1,Manan Vohra was in full flow as his stay at the crease meant that Punjab A progressed at a health run-rate. Vohra first stitched together a partnership of 44 runs for the third wicket with Kunwar Raina (12) before adding another 87 runs for the fourth wicket along with Sharad Lumba. Vohra played a fine knock of 123 runs off 201 balls and smashed 13 boundaries and four sixes during his stay at the crease before he was caught by M Mohammed off the bowling of M Ashwin with Punjab’s total reading 223 runs for the loss of six wickets. Himanshu Chawla and Gitansh Khera were then associated in a 121-run stand for the seventh wicket before the end of the days play. Chawla was unbeaten on 85 runs off 98 balls while Khera was unbeaten on 54 runs off 114 balls when the days play ended.
At the end of the days play,Punjab A were 374 runs for the loss of six wickets in 117 overs in reply to Tamil Nadus first innings total of 386 runs. For Tamil Nadu A side,M Mohammed claimed two wickets for 71 runs while M Ashwin grabbed two wickets for 93 runs.
