Woman stabs husband, puts intestines in envelope, jumps off roof in Haryana
Police said the couple, who were from Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district, had been living in Kurukshetra for about a year.

The body of a 40-year-old man in a pool of blood, a 35-centimetre cut in his abdomen and his wife’s jump from the roof – a residential neighbourhood in Haryana’s Kurukshetra has been shaken by a grisly murder that has spawned many questions.
The main accused in Rajesh’s murder is his wife, Vimla Devi, but police are yet to confirm the motive. Vimla, who has suffered injuries after she jumped off the roof of the building where the couple stayed on rent, has been arrested.
Police said the couple, who were from Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district, had been living in Kurukshetra for about a year. Rajesh worked as a water supplier for a water trading company on Kurukshetra’s Pehowa Road. Surender Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kurukshetra University police station, said police received information about a quarrel between the couple on Saturday evening and reached the spot soon after. “When the police reached there, Rajesh was found in a pool of blood. He was dead,” he said.
According to the police, Vimla allegedly attacked Rajesh before jumping from the roof. She is now in hospital. Police said she would be questioned after her condition improves.
Intestines found in envelope: Police
Sources said the postmortem examination found that Rajesh’s abdomen had been cut open by approximately 35 centimetres. The injuries were so deep that his intestines had come out. Sources also claimed that parts of his liver and his right kidney were found missing. “She had taken out his intestines and put them in an envelope, and it is possible that she wanted to make them disappear,” said the SHO.
The landlord, Rinku, told the local media that he rented out a room to the couple nearly a year ago. He said he heard Rajesh and Vimla shouting around 5 pm on Saturday and went to the roof after hearing the commotion. There, he found Rajesh in a pool of blood with severe injuries on his abdomen. Police have recovered three knives of different sizes from the spot.
Rinku also told local media that the couple frequently quarrelled. Police are yet to establish any other reason that led to the murder. “The reasons would become clear after her interrogation. If required, police will seek her remand from the court,” the SHO said.

The couple had no children and had been married for years, police have found. They are now investigating what could have led to the murder, which stands out for the brutality.
