Man dies of injuries after ‘brutal attack’

A 55-year-old man from Rajpura died of grievious injhuries to his private parts at a hospital in Mohali late on Saturday.

The police said that on September 10 the man, who was a carpenter, had come to Bassi Pathana to collect some payments. On his way back, he stopped in the fields to relieve himself when four persons attacked him, the police said.

Bassi Pathana SHO Shamsher Singh said the victim was brutally assaulted and abandoned. He managed to call his son-in-law who took him to a hospital in Rajpura from where he was referred to Mohali, he added. The victim’s post mortem reported that he had died of grievous injuries to his private parts.
