A youth was murdered by some unidentified persons after being pushed before a train in Sector 19 recently.
According to the family members of a man,Parveen Kumar,a resident of Sector 11,Panchkula,he left his house to buy some biscuits in the evening on Sunday. However, after he did not come back for a few hours, the family grew anxious. His father,Shiv Kumar, said that the family tried to reach out to the boy by calling on his mobile number, but it was switched off. The way the incident has happened,it is a murder, said Shiv Kumar.
The family was later informed of a dead body at the Sector 6 government hospital in Panchkula and identified it as Parveen.
Investigating officer (IO) in the case and assistant sub inspector of government railway police (GRP),Jagdish Chander, said that the matter is being looked into. The post-mortem revealed that the boy received multiple injuries, said Chander.
However GRP officials said that the boy was hit by the train and the railway workers had found his body in the morning. We are trying to ascertain whether the boy and the other person were betting on who would stand next to the train longer. We have questioned some eye witnesses in the case and they have told us that the boy was hit by the train which stopped some kilometers away from the spot of the incident, said the IO.
However the family members said that it was unlikely that the youth would have bet with anyone. The boy had told at the house that he would come as early as possible as there were guests at the home, said Shiv Kumar.
