Man attacks wife with scissors

On Monday evening, a drunk man allegedly stabbed his wife with scissors multiple times after suspecting she was in an extra-marital relationship. He was immediately arrested and booked, while the victim was rushed to a hospital. The couple have been identified as Rajesh Kumar (30) and Muskaan alias ‘Chanda’ (26), residents of Sector 82.

According to police, Kumar is a watchman in a printing press factory and allegedly beat up his wife routinely. On Monday evening, he allegedly came home under the influence of alcohol, armed with scissors. He accused his wife of having an extra-marital relationship. Things turned ugly after he stabbed her with the scissors five times in the stomach, twice on her arms and once on her back. Shouting, she ran out and was spotted by neighbours. The police was informed and she was rushed to the Government Medical Hospital in Sector 32. Kumar has been booked for attempt to murder, causing hurt and wrongful restraint at the Sohana police station.

On Tuesday, Kumar was produced before a local magistrate and sent to judicial custody. SHO Satwant Singh said Muskaan was stable.
