A logo of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET),designed by Tejbinder Singh of Electrical engineering of the institute,was released Sunday by Chairman Emeritus,Tata Consultancy Services and father of Indian Software Industry Dr Fakir Chand Kohli.
The logo was selected after a round of voting for the top five logos. The voting was done by the students of the UIET. Initially around 60 students submitted their entries. The logo selection process was done by the brand promotion committee of UIET.
This selected logo of Tejbinder Singh contains a mechanical ring and picture of famous open hand monument of Chandigarh. The logo’s motto of ‘Vidya Vinyogat Vikas’ means prosperity comes with proper application of knowledge.
Tejbinder said,“My main aim was to design a logo which is striking and differentiates UIET Chandigarh from other UIET’s of the state.”
