Labour inspector manhandled: Haryana Labour Commissioner writes to DC

Three days after a district labour inspector and his stenographer were allegedly manhandled by the employees of CTC plaza,the police have failed to register an FIR in the case.

Three days after a district labour inspector and his stenographer were allegedly manhandled by the employees of CTC plaza,the police have failed to register an FIR in the case. On Thursday,the Haryana Labour Commissioner took serious note of the situation and issued a letter to the Panchkula DC asking him to take strict action against the guilty and register a case at the earliest. “I came to know about how one of our labour inspectors was manhandled in Panchkula. The accused should be brought to book,” said N C Wadwa,Haryana Labour Commissioner. He added that the inspector was on official duty and it is the duty of the Administration to provide him protection. DC Rajender Kataria said he is yet to get the letter while SDM Rajpal Singh said he would look into the matter. On March 23,District Labour Inspector Joginder Singh and Sumit Kumar had gone to the CTC Plaza showroom in Sector 11 to issue challans to the owner for opening the shop on a holiday. Singh had alleged that the owner of the showroom Abheshek Chabbra,along with his two workers,had manhandled them.
