Needing 364 to record win against Jalandhar,Mohali were bowled out for 111 runs in the second innings in a match played during Punjab Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Katoch Shield in Jalandhar. With this Jalandhar recorded a facile win over Mohali and earned six points. Jalandhar’s left-arm spinner Yogesh Kumar captured 11 wickets in the match to help his team win the match with ease. In reply to Jalandhar’s massive first innings total of 382 runs,Mohali were bowled out for 227 runs. Thereafter,Jalandhar scored 209 runs in the second innings. Chasing the target,Mohali were skittled out for 111 runs.

Resuming at overnight score of 111 runs for the loss of three wickets,Jalandhar declared their second innings on 209 runs for 4 in 41 overs. Mandeep Singh Sr. hammered an unbeaten 41 off 53 balls while Himanshu Satyawan scored an unbeaten brisk half century (57) off 26 balls. This assault by Himanshu allowed his skipper to declare the innings at 209 for 4 in 41 overs and taking Jalandhar’s lead to 364.

Mohali started their second essay disastrously and they lost their opener Sunny Sohal before he could open his account. Sunny was knocked out by medium-pacer Navdeep Singh. Thereafter,Harsrup Singh (15) and Gurkirat Mann (28) added 43 runs for the second-wicket before Navdeep struck again having Mann caught by Shubek Gill for 28 runs. Mohali lost three quick wickets_Sachin Sohal (3) Harsrup Singh (15) and Bir Kanwar (11)_in quick succession reducing Mohali to 63 for 5. Thereafter,Anmoljeet Singh (29) and Mayank Sidana (7) put on 39 runs for the sixth-wicket. Mohali lost their last four wickets in the space of nine runs and were eventually bundled out for 111 in 36.3 overs. Jalandhar recorded a victory of a huge margin of 253 runs. Left-arm spinner Yogesh Kumar scripted this win with his superlative bowling performance. He was ably supported by Rahul Sharma (2 for 24) and Navdeep Singh (2 for 24).
