Inspired by the late Nek Chand, Panchkula retired banker Prabhu Dutt Gauri (82) has created a Mini Rock Garden of his own in Panchkula.
Gauri has constructed religious structures such as church, temple, gurdwara and mosque with waste construction material in the Topiary Park in Sector 6 without any assistance.
“I have been allotted around two kanals of land in Topiary Park by HUDA to develop a mini rock garden. I have single-handedly created structures like railway engine, pyramids, pagodas and now I am working on to create Dubai Burj Khalifa and the famous hotel replicas,” said Gauri who retired as a senior manager from Punjab National Bank.
He has been collecting broken titles, stone pieces, broken washroom waste to create structures out of it. Certainly this has been inspiring him to contribute in cleaning the city roads of waste.
He said he started collecting waste material around five years ago. “My passion for creating different things from waste material is never going to die. I want Panchkula to have it’s own name not just because of Sector 5 Cactus Park, but something unique. A lot of people keep appreciating me for my work and it motivates me to do more,” said Gauri.
