Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday took a dig at PCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh and other state Congress leaders, saying political immaturity of the opposition party had led to its drubbing in the recent elections. “Even the ministries were distributed and all was set to send me to the opposition. Now the blood pressure of ministers-in-waiting and officers who did not get plum posts is high as the Mungari Lal Ke Hasin Sapne was broken,” the chief minister minister said while replying on the governor’s address discussion in the state Assembly. “ Even beautiful guests from Pakistan had come,” he added.

The chief minister slammed the Opposition for what he termed as political immaturity. “Before votes were out of the boxes there were parties, singers and so were drummers. Also state chief secretary,DGP and PS to CM were decided. Don’t you think it was political immaturity,’’ he said.

With the Congress set for an introspection on its poll defeat, the chief minster proffered some advice.

“ We won on constructive polices and agenda and not on negative politics. As they are looking at the reasons for their defeat,I will give you a note on why they lost,we do not criticise anyone and one should not play to the gallery,’’ he said.

Badal also made a reference to some top officials who,he said, had shifted their loyalties to the other side sensing an Opposition victory. “Officers should be loyal to the chair and not to a person in the chair whether they are SAD,BJP or Congress. I have no problem with officers who are friends with them. They ran like traitors”,he said.

Attacking Amarinder (without naming him) Badal said: “ One is not accessible. Why should I say one is corrupt. For days one sits in Delhi to meet the high command.” On the new Leader of Opposition, the chief minister said: “I was on this chair as Chief Minister when Sunil Jakhar’s father Balram Jakhar was leader of opposition, now it feel good his son is sitting on the chair where his father sat. I think he (Sunil) will keep the traditions which his father kept”. He,however, also took a dig at former leader of Opposition Rajinder Kaur Bhattal. “ For a long time she was sitting on the chair of leader of opposition but she lost it as the cricket match between the SAD-BJP and Congress cost her chair. She shows she is fine but from inside she is very unhappy,” he said.
