IIPA awards PU prof for outstanding services

Panjab University (PU) Professor S L Goel has been conferred the prestigious ‘Paul H Appleby Award,2012.

Panjab University (PU) Professor S L Goel has been conferred the prestigious ‘Paul H Appleby Award,2012 for his outstanding services to the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and to the field of Public Administration.

Professor Goel was presented the award was presented by vice-president Hamid Ansari and IIPA chairman IIPA T N Chaturvedi in the annual general meeting at New Delhi.

The Paul H Appleby Award,conferred annually by IIPA,is considered to be the highest award in the field of public administration.

A retired professor from the Department of Public Administration,Professor Goel has been an Emeritus Fellow of UGC,former Advisor to Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration,Punjab and Member of Executive Committee,IIPA.

He has also served as editor of the prestigious Indian Journal of Public Administration and Member of University Grants Commission (UGC) and as director of SBI Northern Region.

Apart from this,Professor Goel has also completed five major research projects for UNICEF,UGC and US AID and has been awarded by World Health Organisation for a paper.

He has also authored 101 books and 100 research articles,guided 100 dissertations and 25 doctorates.
