Himachal to amend law to deal with drug abuse

Getting tough with the growing drug abuse,Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today announced a four-pronged strategy to the deal with the problem.

Speaking at function on International Day against Drug Abuse,he said the government will amend the existing law to propose stringent punishments,introduce a chapter in the text books about ill-affects of the drugs on health,enforce orders strictly to ensure that tobacco products are sold at a radius of 100 meter from the educational institutions and set up Drug De-Addiction Centres in all the 12 districts of the state. He said the state had already opened two drug de-addiction centres.
