The defence counsel of the accused had opposed the police remand but the advocate of Jagtar Singh Hawara in this case supported the police remand saying that the “attack” was pre-planned.

On Friday,Nishant Sharma,Ramesh Dutt,Manish Sood and Ashutosh Sharma of the Hindu outfit Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti had tried to manhandle Hawara inside the District Court Complex,Sector 17. The four were booked on charges of obstructing a public servant from conducting his duty; wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt.

The drama was witnessed at around 10 am when Hawara and his accomplice,Paramjit Singh Bheora were brought to Chandigarh for resumed hearing of the infamous Burail Jail break case.

A team of Punjab Police had today come to Chandigarh to the district Courts with the remand application of Nishant Sharma,who is wanted in many cases of cheating in Mohali district,Ropar and Amritsar.

Inspector Surjeet Singh Padda of the Anti Fraud Cell,Jalandhar (rural),told Newsline that the accused Nishant Sharma used to take blank cheques from people by giving advertisements in newspapers regarding sale of vehicles of loan defaulters. In Phillour alone he had duped people of over Rs 80 lakh. Punjab Police will try to get the remand of Nishant on Sunday as today the Chandigarh police had sought his remand.

Meanwhile,lawyers A S Chahal,Tejinder Singh Sudan,Rajesh Guran,Shiv Moti Yadav,Anil Kumar and Ravinder Singh Bassi have complained to the Inspector General of Police for holding an inquiry on Inspector Dalsher Singh Chandel of Chandigarh police and others for dereliction of duties and misbehaviour.
