Hat-trick of titles for PU judokas

The result was the outcome of all the hardwork and preparations they made in the last few weeks.

Judokas of hosts Panjab University,Chandigarh,came up with a stellar show as they claimed gold in all the three weight categories played on the opening day of the All India Inter University judo (men) championship at the PU Gymnasium Hall on Tuesday. The result was the outcome of all the hardwork and preparations they made in the last few weeks.

Nitin gave a stunning start to the home team as he claimed gold in 56kg weight category. Ravi Kumar of Guru Nanak Dev University,Amritsar,came second to bag the silver while the third spot was shared by Kapil Goel of Delhi University and Vikas of Maharshi Dayanand University,Rohtak.

Amit then gave twin reasons for Panjab University judokas to smile as he emerged winner in the 60 kg weight category. He came up with a dominating performance and pushed Gaurav of Kurukshetra University to the second position. Balinder of Chaudhary Devi Lal University,Sirsa,and Anup of Punjabi University,Patiala,shared the third position.

Ramanbir Singh ensured a hat-trick of gold for them with a superb performance in the 90kg weight category. Pawan of Chaudhary Charan Singh University,Meerut,claimed silver while Surender of Maharshi Dayanand University,Rohtak,and Amit of Chaudhary Devi Lal University,Sirsa,came third.
