The sale of beer is expected to be around 12 crore bottles, according to sources.
For the current year, the government had fixed a target of Rs 2,200 crore from the sale of liquor. Based on the growth rate achieved upto January,it will be able to achieve a revenue of more than Rs 2,250 crore. Next Year, the excise collection is expected to be around Rs 2,500 crore, said Choudhry.
Welcoming the move,Haryana Sports Director O P Singh said it would encourage more players to take up sports as a career.
It is a highly commendable move by the Haryana government. With more money for sports,we will be able to organise more programmes and attract more youth to sports. The success of cricket is because it pays to play the game. With more money in other games, more players will be encouraged to take them up, said Singh.
