The Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC),led by former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi,which has announced its decision to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the state on its own,is now pitching to be part of the Third Front.
“We want to strengthen the hands of the parties who are opposed to both UPA and NDA led by Congress and BJP,respectively. With some parties already coming on a common platform,we are also going to join them soon,” senior HJC leader Satpal Kaushik said today.
The HJC,which has so far announced candidates for Faridabad,Rohtak and Gurgaon parliamentary seats in Haryana,is looking to field former chief minister and Bishnoi’s father,Bhajan Lal,in the upcoming polls. “We have left the decision to him to contest from anywhere. He is our main leader and it is up to him to decide from where he wants to contest,” said Kaushik.
Party sources said Lal may be fielded from Janhit’s stronghold belt Hisar,while Karnal constituency is also being considered. Adampur Assembly constituency,which has been won by the former CM eight times,was earlier part of Bhiwani Lok Sabha seat and is now part of Hisar LS seat.
