THE OFFICIAL vehicle of Chairman of Haryana Human Rights Commission, Justice V K Jain (Retd) was involved in an accident with a bus of a private school at Sector 22/17/16/23 roundabout Wednesday.
According to the police, Justice Jain was sitting in the car when the accident took place in the afternoon.
Rahul, driver of Justice Jain, informed the Police Control Room about the accident following which a team from Sector 17 police station and Sector 22 police post reached the spot. Justice Jain had left the spot before police arrived. The bus was carrying students of Shishu Niketan School.
SI Surinder Singh of Sector 17 police station said that he received the message following which he reached the spot but as the area was not under his jurisdiction, he informed Sector 22 police post. Following this, ASI Daljeet Singh reached the spot. He said he spoke to both the parties and let the school bus driver go. The bus driver, Sanjay, however, alleged he was stopped by the police and was made to wait for around an hour to get his vehicle released. With the children sitting in the school bus getting delayed in reaching home, concerned parents also reached the spot to pick them up.
When contacted, Justice Jain said, “I am safe. The school bus driver was driving recklessly. My vehicle has suffered damage.”
