Union minister Hardeep Puri takes a swipe at ‘revdi dispensation’ of AAP govt in Punjab

Puri, in November 2022, hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for having “a gold medal in revdi politics”, saying the AAP leader wanted to make the services of the Delhi Metro free.

Union minister Hardeep Puri Tuesday hit out at “revdi dispensation”, in an apparent reference to the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, while on the campaign trail for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha bypoll on May 10.

In a tweet, Puri said he started his day with a media interaction at a tea stall in Jalandhar.

“…People’s disappointment with the current revdi dispensation is clearly evident in every conversation. They want positive growth, progress & solid policies. (sic),” the minister tweeted.

This isn’t the first time the minister has targeted the AAP for promising freebies, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had termed “revdi culture” in 2022. Puri, who holds the housing and urban affairs and petroleum portfolios, in November 2022 hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for having “a gold medal in revdi politics”, saying the AAP leader wanted to make the services of the Delhi Metro free.

While addressing a gathering after the inauguration of the Bundelkhand Expressway in July last year, PM Modi cautioned the youth to be careful of “revdi culture”. He said the attempts to garner votes by distributing “revdis” was dangerous for the country’s development.
