GTU flays lowering of commutation of pension

GTU,while criticizing the decision of the Punjab government has demanded a central pay scale and service conditions to save the career of employees working in the UT Administration.

The state executive committee of the Government Teachers’ Union (GTU) in a meeting held on Monday criticized the decision of the Punjab government of decreasing the commutation of pension from 40 percent to 20 per cent.

This decision of decreasing commutation of the pension is going to financially affect the retiring as well as the retired teachers who are a part of the Government Teachers’ Union (GTU).

GTU,while criticizing the decision of the Punjab government has demanded a central pay scale and service conditions to save the career of employees working in the UT Administration.

The committee also decided to lodge a massive protest very shortly.

The committee held that it would try its best to make the government roll back the decision in the interest of the teachers working in the UT Administration.
