Girl kidnapped,assaulted by rejected suitor

While investigation into the recent attack on a 19-year-old girl by three youths in Sector 42 continues,yet another incident of a 21-year-old girl allegedly being kidnapped from Sector 47 D and being assaulted by a youth was reported today.

While investigation into the recent attack on a 19-year-old girl by three youths in Sector 42 continues,yet another incident of a 21-year-old girl allegedly being kidnapped from Sector 47 D and being assaulted by a youth was reported today.

The accused has been identified as Randeep,a resident of Sector 32,and is currently absconding. Randeep,was reportedly already known to the victim,a police officer said.

Today at around 11 am,the girl,who takes coaching classes in Sector 47 D,was standing outside the institute when the accused snatched her mobile phone and Activa scooter and fled. However,ten minutes later,he returned in a black Alto car and threatened the girl if she did not get inside it. According to the officer,when the girl resisted,Randeep got out of the car to push her inside,and drove off.

In her complaint,the girl has alleged that inside the car,the accused slapped her and also hit her on the knees with an iron rod. After driving till Sector 34,he threw her out from the moving car and fled,the officer further said.

The victim then made a PCR call,following which she was taken to GMCH-32 for treatment. Earlier,in July,Randeep had asked the girl to marry him and on her refusal,he allegedly assaulted her. The matter was reported to the police,but the girl withdrew her complaint after an apology from the accused.

“We have registered a case of robbery (Section 392 of IPC),kidnapping (Section 363 of IPC),voluntarily causing hurt (Section 323 of IPC) and criminal intimidation (Section 506 of IPC) against the accused. He is absconding and further investigation is in progress,” the officer added.
