Gardener’s son is ‘nicest boy’ in prestigious school

For the third consecutive time,the Ranvijay Award for the “Nicest Boy” in St John’s school has gone to a student from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

For the third consecutive time,the Ranvijay Award for the “Nicest Boy” in St John’s school has gone to a student from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category. This year,Ajit has been chosen as the “Nicest Boy” from Class VIII. “ I think I am the most fortunate father in the world. I could not believe it when my son got admission in such an elite school. Today,my happiness has doubled after seeing him grab this award,” said Algarshan,Ajit’s father,who works as a gardener in the UT Governor’s House.

Instituted by the school’s old boys association in the memory of Ranvijay singh,an alumnus of the school who died at a young age,the award is given to the favourite student between the classes of VIII and X. The jury consists of students,teachers and the non-teaching staff of the school.

Other annual awards given by the SJOBA foundation include Best Student in Academics,Best Sportsman and Best All-rounder from class X,which were given to Ramneek Bhatia,Gitin Oberoi and Vardaan Arora,respectively.

Each of the awardees are given cash prizes. While the nicest boys from class VIII and X received Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000,respectively,the other three get Rs 10,000 each.
