Gaps in sequence of events, don’t rule out possibility of insider’s role: Police

A DAY after three masked men robbed a liquor vend employee of Rs 7.2 lakh in broad daylight in Sector 17, the police on Wednesday said there were gaps in the sequence of events that led to the crime, and did not rule out the possibility of an insider’s involvement.

Three masked men had attacked the employee of a liquor vend, owned by Sanjeev Abrol, a resident of Sector 50, Chandigarh, and snatched a cash bag containing Rs 7.2 lakh from him outside the house of Sanjeev’s brother Rajeev in Sector 17, Panchkula. The incident took place when the employee, Bhushan, had come alone from the liquor vend in Industrial Area, Phase 2, in Bolero jeep to deliver the cash in Sector 17.
