The Panchkula police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of car thieves. With this,it also claimed to have solved eight car theft cases,with four from the district (Pinjore,Kalka,Sector 11 and Sector 5) and two each from Chandigarh and Punjab (Zirakpur and Jalandhar).
Sub Inspector Desh Raj,Assistant Sub Inspector Surender Pal,Assistant Sub Inspector Ramesh Kumar and Assistant Sub Inspector Karam Chand of Detective Staff,along with their staff,arrested Kuldeep Singh of Muradnagar (UP) and Ajay Pal of Agra (UP) under section 379 of IPC on March 13. A total eight stolen cars- two Honda City,five Zen and one Alto were recovered from both the accused which were stolen by them from the area of Panchkula,Pinjore,Kalka,Zirakpur and Jalandhar.
Both the accused were produced in the court on March 14 and were taken on six-day police remand. In a press statement,the police said that further investigation in the case was under progress which could reveal more facts.
