Gang bust: Two juveniles among four held

Valuables recovered; Mohali police claims to have solved dozen cases of theft.

The Mohali police claims to have busted a gang of thieves with the arrest of four accused and recovery of jewellery, motorcycles, electronics, cash and other items worth lakhs.

The police claim that with their arrest, a dozen cases of theft have been solved and two of the accused are juveniles. The accused have been identified as Sunny Kumar and Subir Patra, both aged around 20; and the two juveniles who are both aged around 15. All of them had been living at Naya Gaon but originally belong to other states, according to officials.

In fact, one of the juveniles has already spent 14 months in a juvenile home in connection with a previous theft case. “As soon as he was released, he again started indulging in such incidents,” alleged Inspector Raghbir Singh, who led the police party which arrested the gang during a search operation on Sunday.
