Eight cases of cheating were registered at various police stations of the city on Thursday.
In the first case,Ashok Kumar,Manager at the Indian Bank,NAC in Manimajra,alleged that Bhim Sain,and Birender Kumar had taken a loan of Rs 6 lakh from the bank on a Verna car.
However,Kumar later found out that the accused had also taken a loan of Rs 2 lakh from UCO Bank,Zirakpur,on the same car after which a complaint was lodged with the police.
Police have registered a case of cheating and fraud and forgery,criminal conspiracy at the Manimajra Police station
In the second case,Vishal Bhardwaj,a resident of Sector 22,alleged that an unidentified person,who was driving a white Qualis,bearing a Delhi registration number,allegedly took computer parts from a rickshaw at TPT light point,Sector 26,by cheating the rickshawpuller.
The parts were going to be delivered at a shop in Sector 26.
Police have registered a case of cheating at the Industrial Area Police station.
In the third case,a Sector 32 resident alleged that a person cheated him by buying his car and giving him a cheque which was later dishonored by the bank.
Balbir Singh,in his complaint to the police alleged that Zirakpur resident Paramjit Singh gave him a cheque for Rs 18,000 which was dishonoured.
Police have registered a case of branch of trust,criminal conspiracy and cheating at the Sector 34 police station.
In the fourth case,Khem Chand,a Sector 29 resident,complained to the police that Sector 8 resident Arun Kumar cheated him of Rs 20,000 on the pretext of getting him a job of a manager on February 14.
Police have registered a case of cheating at the Sector 3 police station.
Cops solve three vehicle thefts
Police claim to have solved three cases of vehicle theft on the disclosure of of the accused,Jai Bhagwan alias Pappu,who was arrested by them a few days back.
The CIA staff on Wednesday arrested Jind resident Sandeep and Panchkula resident Gurmit alias Raghu on Wednesday. Three stolen motorcycles were recovered from the accused. All the accused were produced in the court,on Thursday,and have been sent to judicial custody.
