Former Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia Monday alleged that he recently received threat calls at least eight times and brought it to the notice of the Punjab director general of police (DGP).
Majithia was in Mohali district court to appear in a drug smuggling case registered against him last year. While speaking after his appearance, Majithia said that the law and order had collapsed in the state and the ruling dispensation has no answer to it.
“I brought it to the notice of Punjab DGP, but he had no answer to it, I am fearing anything can happen,” Majithia said.
Majithia took a dig at the state police chief and said, “The police chief says that the law-and-order situation is alright in the state but if it is so then why did he have to go to Amritsar to tell this to people?”
Majithia was accompanied by his lawyer Arshdeep Singh Kaler.
Majithia also said that he never made it public that he received threat calls but seeing the present scenario he spoke about it for the first time.
