The Himachal Pradesh Lokhit Party (HLP) received a shot in the arm with former BJP MLA Dulo Ram joining the party in the run up to the Assembly polls. Dulo Ram,earlier a loyalist of BJP veteran Shanta Kumar had been partys vice-president and also member of the Pradesh Election Committee, also merged his political outfit,Himachal Gaurav Manch, with the HLP. Immediately after his induction,he was made a member of the HLPs manifesto committee.
At an impressive show of strength in Palampur,HLP president Maheshwar Singh assigned him the duty to mobilise support in the Kangra region – considered a BJP stronghold
We are marching towards our goal of defeating the BJP and stopping the Congress from returning to power. Both parties are dominated by corrupt people and have looted the state. The HLP will form the next government in Himachal Pradesh, Maheshwar Singh said.
The HLP leader urged the Election Commission of India to direct the state government to stop misusing the official machinery and getting half-completed projects and schemes inaugurated by Chief Minister. There have been large-scale transfers going on to position persons close to the BJP at key positions to influence the election process,he added.
