We Volunteer starts Fun Education Camp at Pustak Slum School students of We Volunteer are back to doing what they do best- helping the less privileged. Holding a Fun Education Camp at the Pustak Slum School,Sector 25,on Sunday,the volunteers from around the city participated in the event. From making presentations on our laptops,to teaching them through cartoons,lessons were imparted on personal cleanliness and regular syllabus like the alphabet and the numerals, said Preet Arjun Singh,founder of We Volunteer. Here,while the slum children enjoyed interaction with young enthusiastic,the volunteers got to learn about the lives of these students.
If you have always dreamt of becoming a Radio Jockey,then heres your chance. Citys Big 92.7 FM has launched the hunt for a BIG RJ wherein the winner will get an opportunity to train and host a show on the radio station. This four-week long hunt will continue till January 31 when the winner will be announced. The radio station is inviting entries through IVR (Interactive Voice Response system) using the number 55454 where the listener can get themselves registered to participate. A Big FM float along with RJ Pankaj,Anubhav and Satya will be travelling across the city colleges and malls,where live auditions will be held. The flow of the auditions is as follows: DAV College,Sector 10 on January 20,GCG,Sector 11 on January 21,Panjab University on January 22,DLF City Centre,IT Park on January 23,Drop In,Sector 34 on January 27 and MCM DAV College,Sector 36 on January 28. The last date for receiving SMS entries will be January 28,post which the entries will be screened and shortlisted by judges. At the end of the screening,five participants will be short listed based on their humour quotient along with their voice and confidence level. The short-listed participants will then compete against each other on-air and will request listeners to vote for them. The winner will be announced on January 31,post tallying of votes from listeners. More than 25,000 registrations have already come in through SMS.
Ptus Gian Jyoti School of TQM and Entrepreneurship held an orientation programme at its Mohali campus for the seventh batch of B Tech – Industrial Engineering and Management students. Affiliated to Punjab Technical University,in this distance learning programme,which was launched in November,2005,there are about 116 working diploma holders from 72 organisations,with experience ranging from two to 22 years.
